A guardian angel probably traveled with the two twenty-year-olds in East Tyrol, who were able to free themselves from the car that started to burn after a spectacular traffic accident.
A 20-year-old woman from the area drove her car along the Drautalstrasse towards Abfaltersbach on Sunday around 4:50 p.m. A 20-year-old local resident was also in the car. For an unknown reason, the car crashed into the guardrail in Leisach, overturned on the driver’s side and slid for 25 meters before landing on its roof.
I freed myself from the car
While the occupants were still in the vehicle, a fire broke out in the engine compartment. The two twenty-year-olds were able to free themselves from the car in time and passers-by provided first aid. While a police patrol arriving at the scene of the accident successfully fought the fire, the car’s occupants were taken to hospital in Lienz. It turned out that they were unharmed.
Drautalstrasse completely closed
Drautalstrasse had to be temporarily completely closed until 6 p.m. The vehicle was a total loss.
