Anger is growing in Tyrol over incorrect installations of photovoltaic systems. Many are not only annoyed, but also feel like they have been scammed, including a family from Sölden in the Ötztal.
Ten broken panels on the roof, 17 holes in the ceiling, sawdust on the living room sofa and a lot of nerves: A family in the Ötztal, like many others in Tyrol, is annoyed by a failed photovoltaic system – reports the “Krone ” .
“We have been through an odyssey of failures. It seems as if these companies deliberately play with their customers, take advantage of them and ultimately laugh at them,” says the owner of holiday apartments in Sölden angrily.
With a bit of luck, a leaking roof was prevented
Almost all the employees who sold her the system last year are no longer there. “The owner’s daughter is now the new director – a very young girl. There are no plans, no calculations, nothing,” says the angry woman who discovered the holes in the roof structure shortly before Christmas. “If we had not noticed the defects early enough ourselves and worked with a roofing company from the valley, we would now have a leaking roof,” emphasizes the Ötztal resident.
“No trained staff working”
Even after the winter, the panels are ready for the trash. “They are not designed to handle the snow load at our altitude and are not reinforced as required. They usually belong on a facade. In addition, the test results were incorrectly issued and the cables were installed incorrectly. There were no skilled workers working,” the injured party said angrily.
Your only option now is to dismantle the entire system, have repair work carried out and then reinstall it – all at your own expense. She said she was “really interested in stopping these people so that more families aren’t harmed.”
