An arrested man was given a service weapon at a police station in Paris and shot two police officers in Paris. The officers suffered life-threatening injuries.
The man was arrested on suspicion of attacking a woman in a residential building. At the station on Thursday evening he was able to grab the gun from one of the officers and open fire. “We have two police officers seriously injured,” Paris police chief Laurent Nunez said Friday. The officers shot include a male and a female victim.

The suspect was also seriously injured – police officers returned fire shortly after his attack. No details have been released about the man’s identity. The attacker and the injured officers were taken to hospital.
