On the internet platform, fraudsters lured Tyroleans out of thousands of euros

Date:

Another case of internet fraud occurred in Landeck on Thursday. Fake messages instructed a local man (40) to transfer his cryptocurrency to a trading platform. The Tyrolean lost thousands of euros.

A previously unknown perpetrator informed the 40-year-old on Thursday that malicious software had been installed on his ‘hardware wallet’ due to an update. To fix this error – and so that no data loss occurs – the man must transfer his cryptocurrency to another platform.

Money disappeared shortly afterwards
The victim followed these instructions and completed the transaction. A short time later, the entire amount was passed on by the perpetrators. As a result, the 40-year-old suffered damage amounting to several thousand euros.
