Weather experts expect heavy rain and thunderstorms in the coming hours, especially in Vorarlberg and Tyrol, and fresh snow is even possible in the mountains. There were also the first hail warnings in Tyrol.
Flooding possible
It is already raining heavily in some of the other states. During the day there were occasional heavy rain showers and dense clouds in North Tyrol. Towards the evening the focus shifts further to Vorarlberg, which could last until Saturday morning. Especially around the Bregenzerwald, the risk of small-scale floods and mudslides increases significantly.
22 degrees in the east
The snow line also drops to 2000 to 1600 meters in the west. Drivers should take into account more wet snow on the roads. In the western mountains temperatures rise to a maximum of ten degrees. In the east, however, it remains humid all the time with a maximum of 22 degrees.

The weather will continue to show its unstable side in the coming days. More rain and thunderstorms are expected throughout Austria. Temperatures also drop considerably and ensure a short summer holiday.
