The parties have reminded the Spanish government that it must now implement the necessary reforms to ensure compliance with the agreement governing the working conditions of domestic workers.
The plenary session of Congress this Thursday unanimously International Labor Organization (ILO) convention 189 on domestic workers which, among other things, requires the recognition of unemployment for employees of this group.
In the same way, it obliges to recognize the protection of these employees against harassment, abuse and violence at work; the right to written terms of employment; checking the hours of attendance; eliminate the withdrawal figure; verify the legality of wages for food and housing; ensure occupational safety and health; or guarantee the minimum wage.
During the debate that took place in the House of Representatives, the majority of the formations celebrated this step, but they also reminded the Executive of the PSOE and United We Can that this implies ratification the implementation of the necessary initiatives and reforms to fulfill them.
They have also called on the Spanish government to strengthen the application of existing regulations that already give these workers access to some of these rights enshrined in the agreement.
In addition, parties such as ERC and CUP have repeal of the Aliens Act to avoid the situation experienced by many of these domestic work professionals who find themselves in an irregular administrative situation.
