Alarm at the Dürnrohr substation in the Tulln district (Lower Austria). A deer was stuck in the gate and could not go back or forward.
Technician René Haydu got a surprise visit at the Dürnrohr substation. An alarm had been going off repeatedly at the substations of EVN subsidiary Netz NÖ, but he probably didn’t expect that.
Deer rescued from precarious situation
On surveillance video, Haydu saw a deer stuck in the iron gate. “The deer seemed fit, but could neither move forward nor backward,” the technician says. After consulting with the gamekeeper in charge, he finally began to carefully free the wild animal. He also took a photo of the deer himself and released it unharmed into the wild with a clear conscience.
