Serious accident on Sunday in the Tyrolean town of Ausserfern: a Dutchman lost control of his car on the B179 Fernpassstraße and drove into oncoming traffic. There he collided with a car of a German. Both the driver and their passengers were injured.
The accident happened around 15:00 in the municipality of Biberwier. The 30-year-old Dutchman, accompanied by his girlfriend, was driving his car on the Fernpasweg towards Nassereith when, according to the police, he lost control due to the wet road.
Crashed into a couple’s car
The car then crossed into the oncoming lane and collided with the oncoming car of a German couple. All four occupants of the car were injured in the accident.
“After initial treatment on site, the injured were taken by ambulance to the Reutte district hospital,” the director continued.
B179 closed for one hour
During the operation, the B179 Fernpass road in the area of the accident site was completely closed for approximately one hour.
