With the FPÖ, the last parliamentary party has determined its federal list for the National Council elections – without a Styrian representative in the top twenty. Among the other parties, too, there are hardly any white-green representatives in the top positions. There are, however, two important exceptions.
While many small parties are still fighting for enough support to participate in the National Council elections on September 29, the five parties represented in parliament have now finalized their lists. Last on Wednesday was the FPÖ. Strangely enough, the Freedom Party, which is clearly ahead in the polls, does not have a single Styrian representative in the top 20 of its federal list.
Although most representatives are elected to the National Council via constituencies or the state list, some (remaining) mandates usually come via the federal list. And their composition certainly has symbolic power. How is Styria represented by the other parties?
