Feldkirchen Mayor David Allerstorfer criticizes the parking chaos at the popular swimming lakes – and that none of the parking revenue stays in the community. We know how you can still get a spot for your car or at least save yourself the wasted journey.
Temperatures above 30 degrees and not a cloud in the sky: last Sunday, thousands of visitors once again flocked to the swimming lakes of Feldkirchen. The parking spaces are generous, but still limited: “I was at a birthday party when I got a call early in the afternoon that everything at the lakes was full again and that we had to sort it out,” reports David Allerstorfer, mayor of Feldkirchen. “So my deputy and I drove there quickly and closed the access ourselves to prevent dangerous situations!” There they stood in the scorching midday heat and patiently explained to each disappointed swimmer why access to the lakes was currently not possible.
