Several dogs showed off their stamina and style on a California beach on Saturday. The four-legged friends competed in a dog surfing competition. Thousands of two-legged friends watched the event (see video above).
The dogs competed in different disciplines: big dogs, small dogs, some alone and some together with other dogs. There were different weight classes. Their owners pushed the animals to get started. According to the event team, they raced over the waves, dressed in life jackets and creative costumes.
Prizes and donations
The best dogs were rewarded. The competition was also intended to collect donations, for example for animal welfare. In any case, the thousands of spectators at Linda Mar Beach in Pacifica, California, were enthusiastic (see video above).
