Dramatic action by the professional fire brigade of Graz on Friday evening: an apartment on Karlauerstrasse was on fire and a man was rescued from the balcony. However, one cat died in the fire.
Shortly after 3:00 a.m., the professional fire brigade of Graz was called to Karlauerstrasse in the Gries district. A room in an apartment on the third floor was on fire and a man had fled to the balcony to escape the flames. There was acute danger!
The man from Graz was quickly rescued with an extension ladder and cared for until rescue arrived. The fire itself was fought with heavy breathing apparatus and after a few minutes the fire was declared “out”. Unfortunately, a dead cat was found afterwards; it died in the fire.
Apartment badly damaged
The fire department was busy extinguishing and putting out the fire until the early hours of the morning. A total of 27 emergency services were on site. The apartment was badly damaged and is currently uninhabitable. First, the cause of the fire must be determined.
