Cat “Minnie” in Carinthia ate broken glass and then died in agony. The owner suspects animal abuse and now wants to warn others.
It is not the first time that Simone Knopper from St. Georgen im Lavanttal has found one of her cats dead. “It is now the third time,” the Carinthian woman says sadly. But this time she had to watch her velvet paw die in pain. “The first two cats were not hit and no scratches or wounds were found. “Now I realize that my cats bled to death internally,” she tells the “Krone” with tears in her eyes.
Because the cat “Minnie”, who drew attention to herself with loud meowing, Knopper noticed several bruises and wounds in the mouth. “When I took her in the stomach area, she screamed in pain,” says the owner, describing the terrible scenes and being able to put two and two together. “My cat must have vomited, because there were small shards in the leftover food that was found in the garden,” the Paffendorfer continued.
For the 52-year-old, one thing is clear: “This is a case of animal abuse! We are dealing with an animal hater in our village!” Now Knopper wants to give away her other two cats. “Before they die of pain too, I would rather separate myself from them. Our cats are outdoor cats, run around the village, but are all castrated,” says the Lower Carinthian mother irritated and wants to warn others.
