A joyride with friends turned fatal for a 15-year-old moped rider in the Tyrolean lowlands on Friday night. The teenager fell and lay seriously injured on the dike. His companions courageously provided first aid and immediately set the rescue chain in motion.
The 15-year-old resident was part of a larger group of young moped drivers who were driving in Kundl (Kufstein district) on Friday evening. Shortly after 8 p.m. a terrible accident took place in the Liesfeld district.
Guide post hit and fell
“For unknown reasons, the teenager suddenly lost control of his moped. “He left the road to the right, ended up on the verge and fell after hitting a road marking,” police reported on Saturday.
The boy was seriously injured and remained in the ditch. “His companions and passers-by provided first aid until emergency services arrived,” the investigators continued.
Suspected thoracic and abdominal trauma
After initial treatment at the scene of the accident, the 15-year-old was taken to the shock room of the Kufstein District Hospital with suspected chest and abdominal trauma.
