Using a treacherous trick, a Venezuelan who had flown in from Brazil tried to get past the watchful eyes of the Schwechat border police. The drug courier from South America wanted to be smuggled in by the service staff at Vienna Airport in the wheelchair he had brought with him. But by then, the seasoned and experienced investigators had already set their sights on him…
The police officers at Schwechat airport were not misled by documents about examinations and treatments that were supposedly planned in Austria.
Four-legged inspectors stopped dealers
Of course, they also called in the help of two wet nose partners. And they had immediate effect: both “Utz” from the customs office at the airport and the police dog “Pitt vom Taffatal” (see photo above) barked and showed clear signs of a drug hideout. Bingo!
The 39-year-old discovered 14 kilograms of high-quality cocaine in the back of his wheelchair.
Drugs worth 1.5 million euros
The street value of the poison is 1.5 million euros. Incidentally, the smuggler was not dependent on mechanized walking aids and had used them purely as camouflage for his dirty business. The South American was taken to the prison of Korneuburg (Lower Austria).
