“Crown”: Mario, you embody SK Sturm. With a total of 550 appearances (451 of which in the Bundesliga) and 179 goals, you are and will remain the eternal record holder. When did the storm spirit take possession of you?
Mario Haas: At the age of eight at home in the Schönausiedlung in Graz. After school there was not much else but football. When Sturm played, the settlement was suddenly empty. A friend with whom I always played football then said: “Come on, Gemma to Sturm, they are looking for people”. I went, but did not even know what to take with me. The first time I wore long underwear.
