After a bloody incident, a US Delta Air Lines passenger plane had to turn back from Salt Lake City (Utah) shortly after takeoff. Due to problems with the cabin pressure, several passengers started bleeding from their mouths and ears.
Those affected later told the American media that they suddenly felt incredible pain in their ears. “It was like someone was stabbing me with a knife,” Jaci Purser recalled. She covered her ears and when she removed her hands, they were bloody.
Purser wasn’t the only one on board Flight 1203, which was supposed to have flown from Salt Lake City to Portland, Oregon, on Sunday. A total of 10 people were reportedly killed by rescuers after the incident. While they likely suffered only minor injuries, they were extremely painful.
Airline apologizes to passengers
“We sincerely apologize for what happened on board Flight 1203. The crew followed protocol in such cases and returned to Salt Lake City. Ground crews there cared for those affected,” a Delta spokesperson told CNN.
Technicians have already fixed the fault in the aircraft’s pressurization system. According to the information, it is back in service. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating the incident.
