A 57-year-old man is suspected of being the victim of a violent crime in the center of Munich. The seriously injured man was found Wednesday morning near the Old Botanical Garden at the central station. The police “assume that there is a larger group of suspects.”
The number of crimes in the park near Munich’s central station has increased recently. Not only because of the current Oktoberfest, the area around Munich’s central station has repeatedly been the scene of violent crimes. A 57-year-old man has now apparently become the victim of a murder.

On Wednesday morning, a passerby found the lifeless man near the central station in the park of the Old Botanical Garden in Munich. The park is only a five-minute walk from the central station – the witness immediately alerted the police.
The man was treated on the scene and then taken to hospital, where he died from his injuries, which he probably sustained from blunt force trauma.
Apparently there was a fight between the victim and the perpetrator on Wednesday morning and the authorities suspect that it is a case of murder. They assume that there is “a larger group of suspects” who are now being sought. Several checkpoints have been set up.
Police are asking for information
Further backgrounds of the fatal altercation at the Neptune Fountain were initially unclear. But after viewing the video footage recorded there, there were indications that a group of multiple suspects probably knew each other.
Two other male suspects were arrested as part of the search that was launched immediately. A search is currently underway for a main suspect. Munich police are asking for information from the public.
According to police, the man is between 20 and 40 years old, has dark hair, a receding hairline, a light complexion and is dressed in dark clothing. He is likely wearing sweatpants, a long-sleeved shirt, yellow shoes and a shoulder bag.
