Police received another bomb threat – this time against the Zeltweg train station in Styria. It had to be closed shortly after 6am and evacuation measures are being taken. It could be a different perpetrator than the 20-year-old Swiss man who was recently investigated.
After it became known on Monday that a 20-year-old Swiss man was responsible for the series of bomb threats, the alarm was raised again. This time a threatening email was received against Zeltweg station – the entire area had to be closed shortly after 6 a.m. The police search the train station for dangerous objects.
The danger of free riders is great
“Every threat must be taken seriously,” says police spokesman Heimo Kohlbacher, “evacuation measures are in progress.” However, the threatening email received cannot be compared to that of recent weeks; it could be a free rider.
In any case, the Austrian series of bomb threats, which also started in Graz, is now causing uncertainty again. Kohlbacher emphasizes: “This is not a game!” Authors of such emails face criminal consequences if suspected of making dangerous threats, as well as “enormous costs.”
