A passenger plane coming from the Dominican Republic with 126 people on board and crew members caught fire immediately after landing in the American city of Miami on Tuesday. The fire brigade was immediately there and prevented worse, but three people had to be taken to hospital.
According to the airport, the front chassis of the machine had collapsed. Then a fire broke out. Video footage showed flames and black smoke rising immediately after the plane landed. The Miami Fire Department extinguished the fire.
Red Air is a relatively new airline based in the Dominican Republic and is of particular interest to Caribbean island tourism, an NBC reporter said. The machine was started in the capital Santo Domingo.
