An 86-year-old from Gmunden has been missing since late Thursday afternoon from the St. Josef retirement and nursing home in Gmunden, where she had only been staying for a few days. After the nursing staff reported the absence to the police around 6:55 p.m., an extensive search was immediately launched, involving five volunteer fire brigades, six police patrols including police dogs, the police helicopter “Libelle Flir” from Vienna, and five drones. Teams from the fire brigade, the rescue dog brigade and the rescue dog brigade were involved.
The track was lost at the sea station
The kidnapper was seen several times on video recordings, which showed her walking from Gmunden city center towards the eastern bank at around 6:15 p.m. She did not board the train at the Seebahnhof and her track was lost near the Gmunden fire brigade at 6:13 p.m.
She was lying in the garden next to the swimming pool
The intensive search was eventually called off, but officers continued to search for the missing person. On Sunday, four days after her disappearance, the elderly woman was discovered by police officers during a patrol. About two kilometers from the house in the garden of a house on the eastern shore of the Traunsee. There she lay dead next to a pool. The investigators currently do not suspect foul play, i.e. murder. The Public Prosecution Service has ordered an autopsy to clarify the cause of death and the time he was in bed.
