On Friday, a 46-year-old drove a pickup truck up a hill in a pasture in the Seidlalm area. He lost control of the steering wheel, probably due to the wet surface. The passenger was able to jump out of the car in time.
On Friday around 8:30 a.m., a 46-year-old Austrian drove a commercial vehicle (pick-up) across grassy terrain in Kitzbühel in the “Seidl-Alm” area to carry out maintenance work on a weather station.
Fell over the edge of the property
The vehicle probably lost traction due to the damp or muddy surface and slid backwards. Near an edge of the property, the pickup fell approximately 20 meters down a steep slope into the valley, eventually coming to rest on its passenger side.
The driver was able to free himself
The passenger, a 26-year-old Austrian, was able to get out of the vehicle in time for the accident. The 46-year-old driver survived the crash unharmed and was able to free himself from the pickup.
Automatic emergency call system
The vehicle’s e-call system started the rescue chain after the collision and established a connection with the state police control center. Both occupants of the vehicle were uninjured. There was significant damage to the vehicle. The Kitzbühel volunteer fire brigade was present with 4 vehicles and 22 emergency services.
