Depardieu will go on trial this Monday for sex crimes that could lead to other crimes

The 75-year-old French actor “intends” to appear at the trial, although it could take place in his absence, his lawyer, Jérémie Assous, announced on Friday.

Gerard Depardieu Tomorrow, Monday, he faces several lawsuits crimes of a sexual nature against two women, which could be just the first in a long list of complaints against him, although not all have been filed with the Justice Department.

The two women have sued Depardieu for several incidents that occurred in the US September 2021 in Paris during the filming of the film Les Volets Verts.

The first woman is a 55-year-old decorator who reported that the actor blocked her with his legs during a filming break and groped her waist, stomach and breasts while making sexual comments at her.

The second is a deputy director who also reports being sexually abused by the interpreter.

At least the first woman claimed the incident happened on her doorstep several witnessesincluding Depardieu’s own bodyguards, who took him from the stage.

However, Depardieu’s lawyer stated that the witnesses and evidence he will present in court “will demonstrate” that the actor victim of ‘false accusations’.

“The stated purpose (of the lawsuits) has just been revealed with the requests for compensation: get rich with 6,000 to 30,000 euros,” Assous said.

Moreover, in 2020, Depardieu was accused of rape and sexual assault by the actress Charlotte Arnault. The Public Prosecution Service requested prosecution of the actor in that case last August, although there has still been no ruling from the judge.

One in total twenty women They have accused the actor in the press of various acts of a sexual nature, to varying degrees, from rape to scandalous sexist statements.

The actor has defended his innocence and claims he was the victim of a media lynching.
