Storm Caetano rages over France. The snowfall and wind have affected 56 departments and the capital.
The snow and wind storm hitting France has led to the cancellation of 10% of flights at Paris Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport, delays on trains and roads and the temporary closure of the Eiffel Tower. 235,000 households are also without electricity.
“Unfortunately, we remain closed today and will reopen tomorrow at 1 p.m.,” the authority that manages the Eiffel Tower said on social media.
In terms of air traffic, Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle is the only major airport affected. Flights have been reduced by 10%. Roads have also been affected and at the time he left work it was estimated there were around 500 miles of traffic jams across France. Trains are also experiencing delays.
The wind left 235,000 homes without electricity, affected by falling trees and branches on the pipes.
A total of 56 French departments were on orange alert this afternoon due to this Caetano storm.
