Much too young, only 18 years old, a woman from Vöcklabruck succumbed to her serious injuries on Sunday morning in the Salzkammergut clinic in Vöcklabruck. The young driver was driving in the municipality of Vöcklamarkt at 7.20 am on Saturday when she suddenly slid into the opposite lane due to black ice and collided with the car of an oncoming 44-year-old.
Seriously injured and trapped
The passenger side of the 18-year-old’s car collided with oncoming traffic. The young driver was seriously injured and was so trapped in her vehicle that she had to be freed from the wreck by the fire brigade. The 44-year-old, whose car was also seriously damaged, was only slightly injured.
Died one day after an accident
On Tuesday, police finally announced that the 18-year-old had died in hospital about a day after the serious collision.
