A Styrian had to die because he had entrusted his fortune to the wrong people. The friendly, helpful man was strangled – and dismembered – by two bank supervisors in 2014. The perpetrators then cemented the body parts in buckets and sank them in the Mur.
On February 12, 2014, Heinz Egger obviously had no idea that this day would be the last of his life. At home, in his condominium on Dr.-Ignaz-Scarpatetti-Strasse in Graz, the 54-year-old carefully wrote down the lottery numbers in front of the television: 18, 21, 22, 39, 43, 45 and the additional number 28. Not knowing that these numbers would not bring him happiness.
Investigators later found the note on his coffee table and were able to draw conclusions about when Styrian was last home.
Shortly after the lottery draw, the early retiree had a late appointment with his two banking supervisors.
