A man was attacked and fatally injured by a shark while fishing with his family off the northeast coast of Australia.
Paramedics tried in vain to save the life of the man who succumbed to his injuries on Saturday evening (local time), reports AAP news agency.
Attack off the coast of Queensland
The incident took place at Humpy Island in the Keppel Bay Islands National Park, about 18 kilometers off the coast of Queensland state. It was not known which shark species it was.
AAP also reported, citing a specialist database, that at least four other shark attacks have occurred in Australian waters so far this year. Two women were seriously injured.
