Several accidents occurred on the slopes in the Dachstein-West ski area on Saturday. Three injured people had to be taken to hospital from the slopes in Rußbach and Annaberg.
In the upper part of the Horn piste in Rußbach, a Spaniard (49) injured his back after a collision with a 15-year-old from the Vöcklabruck district. Almost at the same time, another collision occurred at the same accident site near Hornhütte, in which a 60-year-old from the Vöcklabruck district was injured in the right thigh. According to the emergency rescue service, the other party in the accident stopped briefly, but then committed a collision.
The two injured skiers were taken by rescue to Bad Ischl hospital and admitted there, police said.
In Annaberg, a 15-year-old local woman was driving from the Zwieselalm area towards the valley station of the Hochköglbahn. The skier was knocked over during the descent by an unknown second party. According to her own statements, she was unconscious for a short time after the fall and could no longer remember the exact sequence of the accident.
Another skier gave the young woman first aid and called the piste rescue team. After being taken away by skidoo, the injured person was also taken to Bad Ischl hospital by the rescue team and admitted there after a concussion was diagnosed.
