A 25-year-old suspect who allegedly robbed a Carinthian inn in the summer of 2024 has been arrested by police in Belgium.
Brutal scenes took place this summer in the famous Kollerwirt inn in Tanzenberg in Carinthia. As reported, presenter Tom Soete was knocked down and robbed during a late-night toilet break. The two unknown robbers left the innkeeper tied hand and foot.
DNA traces secured
No trace of the men could be found for the time being. But thanks to an arrest warrant from the EU, a 25-year-old Romanian was arrested in Belgium. The investigators were able to secure his DNA traces at the crime scene and therefore issued an arrest warrant. However, there is still no trace of the accomplice.
“Comparison with the EU database”
“In December, authorities scored a hit when they compared them with the EU database, and the timing of an extradition is still under negotiation,” the report continues. The extradition to Austria has been confirmed, the date is not yet known.
