Alarm level 3! Despite the shortage of extinguishing water, firefighters were able to save animals from a burning stable in the Mühlviertel, even with their own lives. However, some calves and cows lost their lives on fire. Some fire brigades are still in use.
It was an hour before midnight when the sirens cried on Friday evening. The flames in a stable on a farm in St. Sergen am Wald. The advancing helpers immediately increased the alarm level, because the flame permit could be seen remotely: the stable was already in full fire.
Fought through flames
13 weirs with 190 firefighters moved to and next to the extinguishing attack was the rescue of more than 140 cows and calves. Numerous respiratory protection teams struggled through the flames to save the animals. Despite the fast and extensive intervention of the fire brigade, some animals died in the flames. The rescued animals were taken to other stables, removed with trucks.
Problems extinguishing water

Nobody was injured
The stable was destroyed, but the helpers moved from the upper and Lower Austria could prevent the flames from conquering the living room of the farm. The Red Cross was also on the spot, but luckily there were no injuries.
