A huge sandstorm met the Saudi -Arab Capital Riad and neighboring regions on Sunday. Dense dust clouds have significantly affected public life and briefly paralyzed the metropolis.
The extreme weather forced many people in the financial center of Saudi Arabia in their homes. The view in the metropolis was seriously limited, the buildings disappeared behind dense dust clouds, the skylines of the city were almost covered, the day practically at night.
The Saudi National Center for Meteorology (NCM) had already warned in advance of dangerous circumstances and called for compliance with safety rules. The traffic traffic authorities warned of more caution because of poor visibility.
The heavy sandstorm also has the province of Al Qasim, which is approximately 400 kilometers northwest of Riad, in Saudi Arabia mitte. Large parts of the approximately 58,000 square kilometer province were dressed by dust clouds and the view was largely limited, the local media reported.
The weather service NCM had warned that parts of Al Qasim would “be hit by active wind”, which could lead to visibility almost zero, and advise people to pursue the weather warnings and observe the security guidelines.
