No reliable information
At the meteorological service Geosphere Austria, the smartphone values give reason to concern: they simply do not provide reliable information, so use users again and again.
“These apps get their data from international free websites. This is often made for regions and assessments for regions that are not actually measured,” explains Kathrin Baumann-Stanzer, head of environmental eigheorology in GoSphere Austria.
“That is currently not true”
In the past few days she and her colleagues have found no reason to worry about their carefully collected data. “For raised ozone levels, a summer weather situation with high radiation and little wind is required. All this is currently not applicable to Salzburg,” she explains.
