In the American metropolis Philadelphia, two people died in a shooting. Nine other people – including teenagers – were injured. “Several shots were fired,” said police chief Kevin Bethel of Philadelphia during a press conference.
All nine injuries were in a stable state, the police said Tuesday evening. Among them are three young people aged 15, 16 and 17. The dead are two adults, a woman and a man. The police did not give the names of the victims.
According to the information, the crime scene was the Fairtount Park, in which many adults would have been on Monday evening at the time of the incident. “Different groups of young people were here,” said Bethel.
So far, no weapons have been guaranteed. When asked whether the shots were fired by a single person, Bethel replied: “We don’t know that yet.” He added: “We will be able to determine whether it was a weapon or several weapons.” A video of the crime scene shows a strong presence of police and investigations into officials until late at night, as the Omroep CNN reports.
On Monday there was a holiday in the US, the Memorial Day, of which American soldiers are commemorated, who were in military missions.
