A bathing excursion on the Danube ended in a dramatic search on Saturday. Since late Saturday afternoon, a young woman has been missing in the Rolveerboot between Koreleuburg and Klosterneuburg. The search went on on Sunday morning, but has not been successful so far.
Around 5:45 pm passers -by heard – by sudden calls to help the Danube – there was no trace of the young woman shortly thereafter. “Then there must have been an incident, passers -by -through the calls of the woman to help. It was no longer seen,” Franz Reserger told the Kritzendorf Fire Brigade to Orf Lower Austria.
Passers -by -jumps themselves in the water
The witnesses immediately opted for the emergency call and reported a drowning. Some still jumped into the water to help the woman – but in vain. Moments later, the fire brigade and salvation came to the scene with a large contingent.
According to Benjamin Löbl, commander of the Klosterneuburg fire brigade, the search is extremely difficult: “You must be careful not to jeopardize yourself.”
Search for the time on Saturday night
Ten fire brigade boats comb the area around the roll spring boat. The search was initially not successful in the evening on Saturday. The emergency services moved again on Sunday morning to look for the young woman. Because the woman was not found in the water, the banking area has been searched since the morning.
The fire brigades from Crisendorf, Klosterneuburg, Langenzersdorf, Höflein on the Danube and Kornneuburg are in action. In addition to the Rescue Helicopter Christophorus 9 and a police helicopter, the Water Rescue Tulln and divers from the Vienna Professional Fire Brigade also participate in the search.
