A long -term heart wish for Agnes Schipp, a resident of a Senecura Social Center in Hohenems in Vorarlberg, recently became a reality. She went on a journey to Rheinegg and Walzenhausen (Switzerland).
For a long time, Agnes Schipp had dreamed of making another trip with her daughter. The team of the Senecura Social Center in Hohenem made this wish possible. Early in the morning the small trio – Agnes Schipp, her daughter Andrea Staudacher and nursing assistant Stefan Wirth – went his way to the Swiss municipality of Rheinegg with the Senecura bus. Then we went to Walzenhausen through Gear Railway.
After the train ride, the culinary highlight of the day awaited: a freshly prepared pizza in a small, charming restaurant with a view of the hilly landscape. Not only was the food there, but also a lot was told, laughed and enjoyed the good -neesmen break. “Such moments are priceless – not only for our residents, but also for our team,” says Alexander Welte, head of the Hohenem Senecura Social Center. And also for nursing assistant Stefan Wirth, it was a special experience to fulfill this wish and to be able to accompany the resident.
After dinner, the trio even had a little time for a small walk and a last look over the Rhine Valley before he returned to Hohenems – with many impressions and the feeling that great joy is often in the small moments.
For resident Agnes Schipp it was more than an excursion: it was a day that connects, strengthens and stays in a beautiful memory. “I was so looking forward to the journey – and it was even more beautiful when I imagined it,” Agnes Schepp finally with a smile. She will be happy to remember the excursion in the place where she worked more than 70 years ago as a servering girl in the Rhyburg hotel – a time that she also likes to think about.
