Dramatic scenes took place on Tuesday afternoon in the Tyrolean Serfaus (Landeck District): a tractor came from a road and dived over a steep meadow several times. The steering wheel (47) was catapulted from the driver of the driver after about 100 meters and remained seriously injured in the field.
The spectacular accident took place shortly before 4 p.m. The 47-year-old driver from the Netherlands traveled with the tractor on the road to the Komperdellbahn mountain station. In the area of the Cervosa Alm, the tractor suddenly came off the path after a sharp left curve.
Tractor landed on the roof after crashing
The vehicle crashed, was overturned several times and came about 150 meters below the path in a meadow on the roof. “The driver was thrown out of the tractor after about 100 meters and was found seriously injured by first aid workers in the area,” the police said.
The alarmed emergency doctor was brought to the scene of the accident by the fire brigade. “This was a special challenge because of the exposed situation,” says FF Serfaus in his report.
With an emergency helicopter in the clinic
The seriously injured was eventually flown to the Innsbruck clinic after the first aid with the medical emergency helicopter. The tractor was enormously damaged and restored by a towing company.
