Summer vacation in the swimming pool despite the heat wave: he had just bought the annual ticket when the swimming pool, where retired Peter H. (82) prefers to be, closed for almost a month.
Sports pool, high diving facility, children’s pool and many more wet attractions – the Viennese Stadthallenbad is a paradise for everyone who feels comfortable in the water and seeks refreshment there.
But in the summer you stay dry – especially in the hottest part of the day. Due to officially prescribed inspection work, it is now closed until 21 August.
Bought an annual card for 260 euros a day before the lockdown
One of the most vulnerable is retired Peter H. (82). Because the day before the ban, he bought an annual ticket for no less than 260 euros. “Unconsciously and in the crowd at the register”, as he now laments.
Now H. has to transfer from his swimming area near his house to the Stadionbad, which is a number of metro and bus stations away. After all, he can use it with his annual pass. But that’s not the right replacement for him…
