During a late evening drive in the Carinthian district of Wolfsberg, a 17-year-old and her horse were hit by a car on Sunday. The rider was driving without lights.
The 17-year-old was on Reinfelsdorfer Strasse with her horse around 9:15 p.m. on Sunday and was about to turn into St. Thomaser Strasse when she was hit by a car at the intersection. “The 56-year-old driver from the Wolfsberg district may have overlooked the unlit rider and his vehicle collided with the animal’s right side,” said a police officer.
The woman from Wolfsberg then fell from her nine-year-old gelding and suffered injuries of unknown nature. The horse suffered minor injuries and the driver of the car was uninjured. There was serious damage to the vehicle.
