A convict from Salzburg boasted on his release in online videos with large amounts of cash, a Rolex and his cell. That put him under lock and key again.
A prisoner from Salzburg who had been incarcerated for more than two years had a great need to report on the online platform TikTok. Thousands clicked on the videos of the young man, whose upper body features the phrase “Fuck Cops” in tattooed letters. In addition to videos on the topic of drugs, he also published his own short clips.
In it you see: a backpack full of money, thick wads of money and a Rolex watch. On top of that audio tracks like “I need money. only money Lots of money” or “The police storm the bunker. You pray I sit.” The prisoner also showed his cell in the Salzburg prison and wondered if he was in prison or in a palace. But the young man will now have to say goodbye to his beautiful cell in the open prison with a television and a private bathroom.
Prisoner must go back to the closed prison
Colonel Dietmar Knebel, head of the Salzburg prison, says: “We know about the incident and it will have consequences.” The prisoner is no longer released. So far, he is allowed to leave prison during the day to work. That’s the end of it: he will again spend the last months in prison in a closed prison – without a cell phone!
Mobile phone legal, but no videos
It was not uncommon for the detainee to have a mobile phone. Knebel: “We need to be able to reach the prisoners for free entry. But filming and photography is strictly prohibited here.”
It is not clear where the money in the videos is coming from. One thing is certain: the man cannot have earned that much with his prison job.
