On Wednesday (from 9.30 am), 6,992 new corona infections were reported. A week ago, there were 8,475 new cases. 16 other people infected with the virus died.
So far there are 4,803,681 positive test results in Austria. At 9.30 am, 19,231 people with SARS-CoV-2 infection had died across Austria, while 4,706,153 had recovered.
81 patients are currently being treated in the intensive care unit of the hospitals (plus four compared to the day before). 33 patients were added to the normal wards and a total of 1,339 people are currently being cared for there.
The new infections are distributed among the federal states as follows:
- Burgenland: 218
- Carinthia: 272
- Lower Austria: 1678
- Upper Austria: 1035
- Salzburg: 324
- Styria: 804
- Tyrol: 375
- Vorarlberg: 136
- Vienna: 2150
