The XIV edition of Murcia’s Manga and Japanese Culture Show ‘Murcia Rolls Up its Sleeves’ expects to gather some 35,000 people at the Víctor Villegas Auditorium over three days of celebration, November 11-13.

The presentation of the event was attended by the General Director of the Institute of Cultural Industries and the Arts, Manuel Cebrián; the Councilor for Equality, Youth and Development Cooperation of the Municipal Council of Murcia, María Teresa Franco; the director of the hall, Antonio Álvarez; and its coordinator, Juan Álvarez.

Manuel Cebrián explained that “this support is part of ICA’s strategy to promote cultural activity in all its forms, including this one, which is a fundamental focus for a younger audience. This quote is already an international benchmark for this genre, which is a very important part of the publishing market and gives rise to multiple adaptations to different formats, such as anime or live-action animated series, movies, video games and novels.

This year, the cultural gathering will include more than 350 activities in the program, with music concerts, exhibitions, competitions, video game demonstrations, school visits, managateca, talks about anime, series, video games or collecting, as well as meetings with the major publishers of the sector, such as Norma, Ivrea and Selecta Visión.

The appointment with Japanese culture also includes professional cosplayers who will wear their cosplay, which is a handmade themed costume. The purchase of tickets and the consultation of all information about the Manga and Japanese Culture Fair of Murcia can be done via the website ‘www.murciaseremanga.es’ and the social networks of the event.
