Let’s Celebrate – Rosencrantz kicked off an intense election campaign in Wels

Date:

Beer tent, the John Otti Band and a sea of red-white-red flags – those are the essential ingredients for big Freedom events. The occasion for the event at the Welser Volksfest on Saturday (motto: “Let’s get our Austria back”) was the start of the intensive election campaign for the Hofburg elections. An hour before the start, according to the FPÖ, the tent, which could accommodate about 3,000 people, was half full. They waited for the Hofburg candidate Walter Rosenkranz.

Together with federal party leader Herbert Kickl, he came to the hosts, Mayor Andreas Rabl and oo. LH deputy Manfred Haimbuchner.

A quarter of the statements of support came from Upper Austria
It was clear that Upper Austria was the scene again this time, but not Linz (May 1 rally) or Ried (political Ash Wednesday), but Wels: In Wels, the second largest city in Upper Austria, Rabl is a liberal who does the official business. In that state, the FPÖ still rules with the ÖVP. And a quarter of the 18,500 statements of support for Rosencrantz come from Upper Austria.

All in all a classic blue stronghold – albeit with a small blemish. Because of their governmental responsibility, Haimbuchner and Rabl are not necessarily friends with Kickl’s rambunctious course of opposition. Outwardly, however, they are always loyal – especially to the party, as Haimbuchner repeatedly emphasizes. The same applies: “No compromise for Austria – Dr. Walter Rosenkranz”, as can be read on a banner on the stage in the marquee.
