The operation was ordered in the context of the investigation into the alleged fraud of 4 million euros by the Public Health of the Islands in the purchase of material that was never delivered.
The National Police inspected the police headquarters Canary Health Service (SCS) in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on behalf of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, looking for information about “the mask box”. Police sources have specifically indicated that they are looking for files related to former Director Conrado Domínguez and former Director of Economic Resources Ana María Pérez.
The ‘mask case’ involves finding out the destination of the four million euros that the SCS advanced to a company in 2022 to acquire one million masks that were never delivered.
The investigative team suspects that the former director of the SCS Conrado Domínguez, who resigned after his accusation in this case, could have taken part of a commission of 100,000 euros from that contract signed in 2022 in favor of the company RR7 United, as stated in an Economic Crime Unit (UDEF) report.
