The Tyrolean offshoot of the vaccine-critical MFG (Human Freedom Basic Rights) party is still in turmoil. According to media reports, the two MFG councilors in Kufstein, Tyrol’s second largest city, have since left the party, while criticizing the lack of democracy within the party.
It had to be determined that the MFG was not living up to its values within the party, city and city councilor Lukas Blunder said, referring to the expulsion of two state officials by the federal government a few weeks ago. Blunder and another colleague and their deputies want to continue as impartial representatives in the city council and the city council.
“I want to thank you for your efforts and wish you all the best for the future. But Blunder has shown an ungrateful attitude towards his colleagues. I am glad that he has realized himself that he is not the right fit for us,” said MFG state spokesman Bernhard Schmidt about the events in Kufstein.
In the municipal elections in February, the MFG had won 64 mandates in 47 municipalities. They also want to participate in the state elections on September 25.
