The immunity of the FPö delegation manager in the EU parliament, Harald Vilimsky, could be re -caned. The accusation: access to party money for private purposes. According to freedom it was about his personal safety.
President Roberta Mesola explained that she received an application from the responsible authorities in Austria and sent to the Legal Committee on Wednesday before the start of voting in the EU parliament in Strasbourg.
Upon request, the European Parliament did not want to give any details about the announcement. The Austrian authorities, who were also requested for a statement, are responsible. According to Vilimsky, the reason for the request is the preparation of a security door for his private apartment 13 years ago, which was paid by the party due to a threat situation.
This is how the FPö man explains
Vilimsky explained to the APA in a written statement: “The freedom of the police authorities was informed about 13 years ago that, among other things, my private address in the circles of the violent black block, which was responsible for the riots against the academic ball at that time. According to an analysis (…), it was a weak point.”
Because at the time he had “a minor child at home”, he asked “my party to cover the costs of making a security door, which of course confirmed”. 13 years later an exam would take place whether it would have obtained an advantage.
Vilimsky didn’t say. He was “convinced that this statement can easily be trained and created from the world, especially since there have been threats for me again and again in the past for the subject of official reports and therefore must be documented”.
The EU parliament for the last time accepted a “application for the immunity of Harald Vilimsky” in November 2021. At that time this was asked by the public prosecutor of Vienna. The reason was suspected of unfaithfulness and financing abuse.
