There will be three groups responsible for analyzing aspects such as infrastructure and transportation
The working committee responsible for drafting the region’s candidacy to host the 2030 World Cup was launched this Monday, regional government sources said in a statement. The first decision taken was the creation of three independent groups to analyze in detail three fundamental aspects that must be taken into account in order to complete the proposal: the sports venues, the tourist infrastructure and those of a general nature.
The intention is to bring these works forward in the summer in order to have all the information available by September. At the end of that month, the regional candidacy should be outlined, fulfilling all commitments made by the Royal Spanish Football Association.
For this, technical visits are made to the three sports locations: Enrique Roca, La Manga Club and Pinatar Arena. The other working groups will analyze the tourism and general infrastructure in the Region. The first will integrate the Institute of Tourism of the Region (Itrem) and the Institute of Development, along with the tourism departments of the municipalities of Murcia, Cartagena and San Pedro del Pinatar.
For its part, the General Infrastructure Group will study the situation in the areas of health, safety, emergency relief, transport, airport and railway communications. “In less than a week we have been able to get started to design a candidacy that will lead us to host the World Cup in Spain and Portugal,” said Sport’s general manager Francisco Javier Sánchez, emphasizing that ” with the coordination and cooperation of all we will be able to submit a proposal for a region with guarantees».
