Proposals adapted to the new mobility scenario, such as ReDrive, from ALD Automotive, have found their way to the car market
Despite the complex context surrounding it, the rental sector in Spain continues to progress at a good pace. According to the latest data from the Spanish Vehicle Rental Association (AER), companies in the sector have registered 183,476 vehicles as of September this year.
It is a figure 5.54% lower to the same period of 2021, but less than that experienced by the total market in Spain, 10.15%.
In addition, the weight of rent in the total registrations was 26.08%, compared to 24.81% in September 2021.
It is not exactly easy for the automotive sector in our country at the moment. The outbreak of the pandemic and subsequent semiconductor drought has led to a shortage of new vehicles on the market.
Long waiting lists for delivery have led to
the vehicle used has become one of the fastest growing sectors in recent months. However, due to the increased demand, the price has also risen. An intersection for which renting is suggested as a solution.
An example is ALD Automotive Spain. The lease and fleet management company has launched ReDrive,
a new lease option for individuals that offers drivers the possibility to access second-hand vehicles with very flexible conditions and adapted to the new mobility scenario.
It is a product that allows the user to switch vehicles every six months. Once this period is over, the driver can continue his rental contract, return the car without penalty for cancellation, or agree to buy it with the refund, in addition to 50% of the rental fee paid.
With the launch of ReDrive, ALD Automotive is focusing on the VO leasing market as one of the most interesting and flexible formulas in the new scenario. In the words of
Pedro Malla, CEO of ALD Automotive Spain«We believe that encouraging the purchase of second-hand leasing vehicles can be an effective lever for liquidity for families and modernize the fleet, as leasing public transport is much less polluting, as they are vehicles with only 3 or 4 years of age. , compared to the 11 years old used market in Spain».
In this sense, the vehicles available in ReDrive, all from lease contracts that have already expired, have
detailed vehicle history informationhave been completely revised and are accompanied by the “all-inclusive” services and benefits of a rental car: car maintenance, tire change, service in more than 1,700 workshops throughout the national territory, roadside assistance 24 hours a day, 365 days a year .. as well as administrative procedures with a cabinet specialized in fine management (when receiving a sanction) and the damage repair service itself with the associated procedures.
In addition, ALD Redrive guarantees that, if the customer is not convinced by the vehicle, he can
return it within 15 days or 1,000 km (whichever comes first) and the option of a replacement vehicle if required.
Flexibility is key to this emerging new niche. This type of rental usually has:
a 12 month contract, compared to renting new vehicles where the contract should normally be a minimum of two years. In fact, the average length of contracts completed in Redrive is 10 months, while 26% of them end in the first semester. For its part, 10% of customers use it as a means of purchase to stay with the car at the end of the contract.
In short, the possibility of entering into short-term contracts provides a product of:
High added value for the customer, who adapts to the needs of the moment and allows him to enjoy the vehicle without the obligation to own it. The option seems to be taking root in the market: last year, the number of contracts of this type of rental increased by more than 30% at ALD Automotive.
The process of acquiring a used vehicle for hire can be done 100% online or, if the customer wants personalized attention, he can go to one of the
ALD Carmarket Stores in Madrid (Majadahonda, Parla, Arganda del Rey and Leganés), Barcelona (Viladecans and Cabrera de Mar), Seville (Bormujos), Villagonzalo de Pedernales (Burgos), Trobajo del Camino (León), Pontevedra (Mos), Villares de la Reina ( Salamanca), Valencia (Burjossot) and Zaratán (Valladolid).
