Neighbors defend themselves against a completely desolate house in the 21st arrondissement: youth gangs and the homeless could set it on fire.
The inhabitants of Floridsdorf have long been bothered by the totally desolate state of a residential building at 12 Anton-Bosch-Strasse. “It is high time that various responsible municipal services intervened here. Anyone can climb into the broken ground floor and completely glassless windows, so ultimately the risk of arson cannot be ruled out,” says Floridsdorfer former district councilor Hans Jörg Schimanek (WIFF).
However, since the consideration of an application in this regard in the district parliament would mean a significant delay, Schimanek contacted the “Immediate Action Office” and requested rapid intervention due to the impending danger. However, the request was not granted.
“For example, if homeless people climb in, start a fire, etc., any consequences are solely for the owner,” the agency says. After complaints from the neighbors, the owner was ordered to close the windows within the legal term.
