At a Slovakian school, a teenager injured two classmates with an ax and threatened several others. The police spoke of “horror scenes” and also reported the arrest of the attacker. The act is classified as attempted murder.
The crime took place at a technical school in the small town of Novaky.
According to TV channels, the suspected 16-year-old perpetrator ran with the ax through the school building shortly after class started, citing eyewitnesses. First, he lightly injured a student and then hit the ax directly on the forehead of another student. The girl is not in mortal danger.
The perpetrator then ran out of the school building and was apprehended by police about 500 meters away. The director told the TASR news agency that both students and teachers had received psychological support.
“From the information and evidence obtained at the scene of the crime, it appeared that there was a suspicion of intentional homicide at the stage of attempted homicide by several persons. Therefore, the case is being investigated by detectives from the National Criminal Investigation Service. The special officer of the judiciary was promptly informed of the case,” the police said on Facebook.
A special police unit has taken over the background investigation.
