The ELA union has declared a strike on the days November 23 and 24 in the kitchen and cleaning sector of the Ministry of Education to support the implementation of the Negotiations on the foundations of the PPO consolidation and the maintenance of their working conditions, as well as the replacement of sick staff from day one.
As the union notes in a note, the current situation in the sector is “very worrying” as “almost 7 months have passed since the last negotiating table of the OPE and nothing is known about the basis of the stabilization process”. The union has criticized the Ministry of Education’s stance and has ordered the fundamentals to be published before the end of the year.
For ELA, the department’s objective is clear: “start negotiations on the basic process as late as possible to prevent and hinder the mobilization and response of the templates.” Likewise, it believes the Ministry of Education is “playing with the uncertainty we all live with”.
During 2022, they mobilized eight days between March and May in defense of a guaranteed consolidation of the OPE and the preservation of their jobs.
